We offer flexible, meaningful volunteer roles — from one-off guest talks to recurring technical mentoring and full-day summer camps — so you can match your availability with impact. Volunteer Roles

AI Community Workshop Leader

Expertise required: Comfort presenting to adults; basic-to-intermediate AI literacy (concepts, use-cases).

Description: Design and lead a 60–90 minute community session on an accessible AI topic (e.g., AI for small business, digital privacy, AI tools for nonprofits). Provide practical examples, a short demo or hands-on activity, and time for Q&A.

Time commitment: 1–3 hours including preparation + 1–2 hours for the live session.

Impact: Equips local community members and non-technical leaders with actionable AI understanding and resources.

AI Technical Workshop Instructor

Expertise required: Professional/academic experience in ML, data science, engineering, or applied AI tools; experience teaching or running labs preferred.

Description: Run hands-on workshops (intro to Python for AI, model-building, prompt engineering, or deploying small models). Provide sample projects, labs, and follow-up resources. Can be adapted for high school, college, or adult learners.

Time commitment: 3–8 hours (prep + 2–4 hour workshop). Multi-session series possible.

Guest Speaker / Industry Panelist
Expertise required: Professional experience in AI industry, research, policy, product, or ethics; comfortable speaking publicly. Description: Give a 20–45 minute talk or participate in panels (career paths, ethics, product case studies). Ideal for morning coffee talks, evening webinars, or school career panels. AI for Kids Instructor (K–8)
Expertise required: Experience working with children, classroom management, knowledge of kid-friendly AI activities (block-based coding, visual tools). Description: Lead playful, safe lessons introducing AI concepts (pattern recognition, simple models, responsible use) using age-appropriate tools and projects. Materials and lesson plans available; mentors supported by our education lead. Time commitment: 1–3 hours per session; recurring weekly or single special event options. Student Summer Camp Planner / Lead
Expertise required: Program planning or camp leadership experience; familiarity with project-based learning and basic AI topics. Description: Co-design and organize week-long or multi-week summer camps for teens or younger students: curriculum planning, volunteer coordination, logistics, and safety protocols. Provide mentoring support during camp week. Time commitment: 10–40 hours across planning + full-day or half-day involvement during camp week(s). Micro-volunteer & Other Ways to Help

  • Resume/interview coaching for learners applying to internships.
  • Project code reviews (one-off, asynchronous).
  • Event setup/operations — help with logistics, registration, and outreach.
  • Curriculum review — edit lesson plans or assessment rubrics.
